Activities

Volunteer and Connect
Bringing art and community to Athens
At Athens Art Association, we look for opportunities to bring art to the community. We volunteer our time at festivals like the Lickskillet Market and Festival at Lyndon House and other local events. We also sponsor juried shows and donate supplies and funds to local art programs.
Education and Opportunity
Learning and growing together
Each monthly meeting features a local guest speaker, workshop opportunity or chance to learn something new about art. The theme changes monthly and provides an opportunity to challenge members' perceptions about art. Additionally, willing members can show art for peer critiques and review.

Exploration and Discovery
Celebrating culture and diversity
Athens is a culturally rich city and is home to several different art associations and groups. Athens Art Association provides opportunities to network and join forces with other art groups to help members grow as artists. Some opportunities include painting with Lydon House's Plein-Air group and future collaboration with the University of Georgia's Lamar Dodd School of Art.
2019 is the Centennial Anniversary of Athens Art Association. Become a member today and celebrate 100 years of art in Athens.
